Makeup Geek Holiday Bundle review with look!
Hey! I got a gift you guys*! The crew at Makeup Geek asked me to choose nine shadows from their store to do some looks with, and I chose the Holiday Bundle. I'd been eyeing it in their store for ages, I was delighted when they asked me!! I'm super excited to try these shadows, I've been watching MUG videos for some time now and Marlena and Co. create some really awesome looks with them. I actually received these a while back, but I wanted to get a Z-Palette to photograph them in. Here's the Holiday Bundle in my cute new zebra print Z-Palette, and some swatches:
There are four shimmery shades and five matte in this collection. All these colours are beautiful! My favourite shades are are Gold Digger, Envy and Bitten. They're soft and have great pigmentation, and it was really hard to choose which shades to do a look with!
I decided to use Pixie Dust in the inner third of the eye. I love this colour so much, it's a beautiful vibrant chartreuse. In the center I placed Dirty Martini, and put Envy on top of that for more shimmer. On the outer third I used Bitten, and deepened it more with Mocha. I blended up toward the brow with Preppy and highlighted the brow with Beaches & Cream. I mirrored the eyeshadow on the lower lid and water line. I got the shadows to stick to the waterline by using NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk.
I think this look came out great! The MUG shadows are soft and easy to blend, and I plan to pick up more when I have the funds! There are fifty-six shades available at the MUG Store in pans like I have or compacts. I would happily recommend these shadows to anyone! They're certainly among the best shadows in my collection. Here are some more shots of the makeup and a product list. Thanks for reading! >_^

Review with Look - Bourjois Smoky Eyes Trio
Hello! Sorry it's been almost a week again, I was sick and I couldn't show anyone the horros of my face :( I heard good things about the Bourjois Smoky Eyes Trios so I decided I'd pick one up. The one I got is called 'MordorĂ© Chic', and was priced at around €10. I normally dodge Bourjois products like the plague since I've always been disappointed whenever I've picked anything of theirs up before, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt this time. Here's what it looks like:
The packaging is super cute, I love it. It's very portable, small enough to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. Check out the swatches:
There's a look idea illustration on the back too. Normally when I do a smoky eye I'll use the medium shade on the lid and the darker shade to blend out, but this look idea has the dark colour on the lid so I decided I'd try it that way.
I lined the upper lash line with black kohl pencil and smudged it out to darken the look a bit more. These shadows are nice to work with, they blend nicely and the colour payoff is decent. My favourite one is the dark brown. I think using the medium shade to blend out with looks nice, but it doesn't make the look all that smokey. I much prefer the more common method of blending out with a darker colour. Bourjois claim that this shadow will last up to eight hours, and it certainly did with the help of Too Faced Shadow Insurance. You definitely need a primer in general, but with Bourjois shadows I find the colour payoff especially weak without one. I like this trio, I think it's really nice and I would buy it again. It would make a great stocking filler for a friend at Christmas too! I'll leave you with a couple more photos of the look and a product list. See you soon!

This Week's Nails #8 - Wanna Say Hello/Time For Romance
I did my nails last night and I'm really happy with how they came out! I wanted something trendy and I wanted to use glitter, and after some rummaging in my polish box I found a couple that I thought would look nice. I'm having a really rough time photographing glitter, so I'll post a few pictures. Unfortunately none of them do it justice, so try to use your imagination! ^_^
The first colour I applied was Essence's 'Wanna Say Hello', a rich, dark, chocolate brown. My bottle is from the older range, but the good news is that this polish is still available! It's priced at €1.79 and has a new and improved design.
I layered two coats of Essence's 'Time For Romance' on top of the brown. Again, my bottle is the old design, but this one is still available too! It's also priced at €1.79. This polish is gorgeous, and compliments 'Wanna Say Hello' just perfectly.
It's a real shame that the glitter doesn't photograph well. I'll describe it as best I can! It's coloured a rose gold shade, but more peachy. It has a sort of glow about it, it's lovely. The glitter is irregular and some of the smaller bits reflect green, blue and sliver. You'd have to see for yourself! Alone it has a wine coloured base, but you can't see this over the brown polish. I'm not sure what it looks like on, I've only swatched it on white paper to see what it looks like. I hope you like this manicure as much as I do! See you soon ~_^
