Sci-Fi Makeup

Hey!

I'm doing makeup for a remake of a French movie, 'La Jetée'. It's a short film and I believe it will be screened at a local film festival. It's shot using stills which is really interesting. We're shooting tomorrow, so I've spent the last few days doing test runs of looks I wanted to use. There are some people from the future in it, so I get to do fun stuff! This is the one I did today:

I don't know yet if this one will be used at all, but I came up with a few different ideas and tried a lot of stuff out. I did some searching online for inspiration, and I came across a Youtube channel called BeautyARTStudio. This video in particular inspired this look - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvlKnf4hCVc, This lady's looks are really cool. I'm not sure how to describe them, they look like high fashion looks. She uses a great technique for making shapes. It's a lot like when you define for a cut crease look, you drag the kohl and smudge it out. She uses eyeliner brushes for this and it makes the pencil easy to manipulate. You need a soft, smudgy pencil for this. I used Urban Decay Glide-On Pencil in Zero, it was great. I tried my Collection 2000 black kohl too but that didn't move as well as Zero. I used Sigma's E05 and E11. Here are some more pics:

I have some embellishments to add to this look when I do it for real tomorrow. I got some rhinestones and metal bits for decorating cards so I'll stick them on and try to make it really cool. I'll be contouring too and perhaps slightly altering the skin tone. I'm not sure what to do with the lips. I tried black and silver but I had to crop my mouth out of the photos because it looked super bad D: ! I was pretty stuck for time today, and I had to meet my sister not long after completing this. I had to make it 'wearable' because I didn't have time to redo my makeup :( This is the best i could do!

Sorry about my eyebrows again, oh god. I need to see someone about that. I took off some of the makeup around the eye and sort of made a cut crease. Hooray! My sister said it was nice so I guess it wasn't too bad. Here are some more pics and a product list, maybe some of you are feeling adventurous. I hope you enjoyed this slightly different look. See you soon! :D

Sugarpill Blue & Green

Hey!

Another colourful eye look, blue and green this time. I'm crazy about Sugarpill lately! I'd love to get my hands on some more of their loose shadows too, I only have Goldilux but it's fab. I wore this look out to a party at a friends house last night. I paired it with clear gloss and Bourjois Blush Pot in Rose d'Or, keeping it toned down to show off the eyes. I can't find my eyelash glue but I wanted to wear false lashes too. I really need to practice applying them. Here are some photos and a product list! I'll post again soon with a product review or something hopefully for a change.

Sugarpill Green & Purple

I suddenly got colourful today. I got a sweet new Totoro t-shirt and it's green and purple, so I did some makeup to sort of coordinate with it. Ta-dah!

My eyebrows D: Eyebrow maintenance is the biggest pain. Purple brows might be cool with this look actually. I think coloured brows look odd on me though so it doesn't often occur to me to try it. Ooh, I got the Sigma Precision Eye Kit this week and it is so badass. The brushes are amazing, especially the crease brush and the blending brush. I'll review it at some point but I want to use them more first. So far I love them anyway! Here's another photo and a product list.

Another Face #3 - Keelin #2

Hey guys! My friend Keelin called round last night, she cooked us a super tasty dinner and then I did her makeup! It's another colourful and dramatic look. This time when she left mine she was going to a cousin's party in a house, so I laid off the glitter. Plenty of shimmer instead! I used some loose shadows by The Body Needs again, I had such fun with them on Thursday. I'm so happy that Keelin allows me to do dramatic looks on her. Some people can be really scared of trying new looks.

Practicing on other people is helping me to improve my skill a lot. Keelin has different shaped eyes to me so I'm learning what sort of shadow placement suits her eye shape best by working on her. I feel like I'm able to apply makeup on someone else just as well as I am able to apply it to myself which is a big deal for me. When I took the makeup class I once did I had no idea to apply makeup to someone else, and I hadn't used brushes much. Needless to say I struggled for a bit, but now I'm feeling so much more confident. Here's the before and after shot, followed by some eye closeups and a product list. See you soon!

Another Face #2 - Keelin

Tonight my friend Keelin called over and I did her makeup before she went out! She was going to a gig so I did colourful, dramatic party makeup with glitter.

Before, wearing only foundation

After

Both of those photos are unedited, just cropped. I think I did ok! I don't get to work on other people as often as I'd like so it's kind of hard to tell how I'm doing, but I like how the makeup came out. Still, I feel more confident working on people than I used to. Hopefully I'll get to work on Keelin some more in the future >_^ Do some different kind of looks and stuff. Let me know in the comments what you think of this look! I know it's pretty crazy but it's night out makeup, and glitter is so much fun! Here are some more photos and a product list, see you soon!

FOTD#6 - GOSH Look #2

Hey! I did another look today with the GOSH palette from yesterday. This time I used the greens, I wanted to do a colourful look! I did a full face today, except shading. At least I highlighted this time.
Why do I look so angry? O_O
Some eye makeup shots!

I do like this palette. Again today some of these colours weren't so pigmented. These ones applied a lot better on my arms yesterday, maybe it's something to do with my lids? I'm not sure! The colours are nice though. I really feel like this palette would be amazing for bridal looks. The colours blend out so well and the looks appear soft and feminine. The colourful shades aren't so bright as to draw all eyes on you, they're awesome daytime shades. If you want your look a bit more dramatic, you can play it up with colourful liner like I did here!
I'll leave you with another photo and a product list, thanks for reading!

Hey, I'm back with another look! I haven't used my Sugarpill shadows in ages, so I was really eager to do a look with them this week. I wanted to do something to go with my EOS Ice Violet lenses, and I don't use blue all too often so I thought I'd go with that for a change. Here are some photos and a product list!

Review with Look - Sleek Supreme

This is the second part of the Sleek 'Shangri'la' collection review. The 'Shangri'la' collection is priced at €25, and also contains the 'Respect' palette and two 'Truley Mattely Deeply' lip colours. The limited edition 'Supreme' palette is also available alone at the price of €10. This is what it looks like:

Like the 'Respect' palette, the 'Supreme' palette also has fancy gold writing on the front. The shadows in this palette have quite a different colour scheme to its sister palette.

As you can see there are a good few shades of blue in here, along with a number of green and neutral tones. The shades that stand out most to me are the darkest blue and the dark yellow. Here are some swatches:

Blue Suede, R&B, Bronx Black, P-Funk, Grand Master Flash, Wah Wah White

LA Belle Blue, Smokey Robinson, Al Green, Delfonic, Commodores Cream, Shangrilas Lemon
The top row has strong, bright, bold colours, while the bottom row has some lighter colours, with some pastel shades. They're mainly matte and satin shadows, with just one shimmery shade, 'Wah Wah White'. The shadows are very soft, and apply nicely. Pale shadows look so weak swatched on my skin. I'm sorry, they just blend in well. The barely visible 'Smokey Robinson' is a nice pale matte grey, in case you were wondering. 'Wah Wah White' is whiter than it looks in this picture too. Here's the look I created:

It makes me think of Wolverine! I photographed my left eye for a change. Please excuse the scar. Actually it's because I messed up the liner on my right eye and then the bulb blew on my No 7 illuminating mirror, making it too dark to see what I was doing. This one looked better anyway. For this cut crease look, I defined above the crease with Urban Decay's 'Mainline' pencil from the 24/7 Glide-On Smoked pencil set. I smudged that out and added 'R&B' just above it. I blended this up towards the brow with 'LA Belle Blue'. I also used 'Mainline' on the waterline. On the upper and lower lid I placed 'Grand Master Flash', and highlighted the brow bone and inner corner with 'Wah Wah White'. I smudged Urban Decay's 'Zero' pencil along the outer part of the lower lid. I finished the look by lining the upper lid, adding mascara and filling in the eyebrow.
I like this palette, it's great. As much as I liked the 'Respect' palette, I prefer this one. I can see myself using this one more, but we'll see what happens! Using both palettes together is going to be good too. I'll leave you with more pictures and a product list.

#FOTD 3 - Sugarpill ColourPunch

Hello! Viola at Killer Colours is doing a contest, you can read more about it here: http://rodeo.net/killercolours/2012/11/03/contest-neutral-or-bright-win-prices-from-maddstyle-cosmetics/. There are two categories, neutral and bright. Four Maddstyle eyeshadows are the prize for each category. I did a colourful look for the bright category that I might enter! I'd like to do a few more different looks for each and choose the best. This is what I came up with yesterday. What do you think?

I might consider the Bubbles look I did recently as an entry too, but I think this one is better. Here's some pictures of the eye makeup.

The Powerpuff Girls - Bubbles

A few months ago I did a look inspired by Blossom. You can see the it here on my Makeupbee page: http://bit.ly/XnPS4v. I was planning to do looks for all three Powerpuff Girls, but I didn't get round to it for a while and then it slipped my mind for another while. Yesterday I remembered and did a look inspired by Bubbles.

I was going to do something cute and innocent, but Bubbles can be hardcore too so I made it a little darker. Her dress is blue which is the prominent colour I chose for the look. Here are some more pics and the product list!
