Another Face #5 - Niamh

Hey!

I did more practice makeup last night, this time on my friend Niamh :) I did a full face of makeup again with contouring. She wanted something sort of natural which is just as well because I think I'm done with my colourful phase for now! I'd never worked on Niamh before, but she was lovely to work on. She has evenly spaced eyes that are a little on the small side, small/standard eyes. I wanted to try a couple of eye enlarging techniques I saw recently. Curling the lashes and smudging kohl liner on the upper lash line to define and extend the eye, as well as placing more mascara on the outer lashes to open the eyes up more. I didn't use nude liner though, I didn't want it to seem too much like a daytime look.

This was sort of a test run for makeup I'm doing for Jordan today. She's going to a fancy ball and is looking for a nude look. Super sophisticated! I did up a nude cut crease already and I'll show her this one too. I want to use taupe shadow on Jordan to make her blue eyes stand out, so I tried this on Niamh too.

I didn't take before shots again because I forgot. Here are the after shots.

Amazing lower lashes!! :O

I'll be working on Niamh more in the future, hopefully often enough! Here's a product list, I'm off to do more makeup. Busy busy!  See you soon >_^

FOTD#6 - GOSH Look #2

Hey! I did another look today with the GOSH palette from yesterday. This time I used the greens, I wanted to do a colourful look! I did a full face today, except shading. At least I highlighted this time.
Why do I look so angry? O_O
Some eye makeup shots!

I do like this palette. Again today some of these colours weren't so pigmented. These ones applied a lot better on my arms yesterday, maybe it's something to do with my lids? I'm not sure! The colours are nice though. I really feel like this palette would be amazing for bridal looks. The colours blend out so well and the looks appear soft and feminine. The colourful shades aren't so bright as to draw all eyes on you, they're awesome daytime shades. If you want your look a bit more dramatic, you can play it up with colourful liner like I did here!
I'll leave you with another photo and a product list, thanks for reading!

Review with Look - Sleek Supreme

This is the second part of the Sleek 'Shangri'la' collection review. The 'Shangri'la' collection is priced at €25, and also contains the 'Respect' palette and two 'Truley Mattely Deeply' lip colours. The limited edition 'Supreme' palette is also available alone at the price of €10. This is what it looks like:

Like the 'Respect' palette, the 'Supreme' palette also has fancy gold writing on the front. The shadows in this palette have quite a different colour scheme to its sister palette.

As you can see there are a good few shades of blue in here, along with a number of green and neutral tones. The shades that stand out most to me are the darkest blue and the dark yellow. Here are some swatches:

Blue Suede, R&B, Bronx Black, P-Funk, Grand Master Flash, Wah Wah White

LA Belle Blue, Smokey Robinson, Al Green, Delfonic, Commodores Cream, Shangrilas Lemon
The top row has strong, bright, bold colours, while the bottom row has some lighter colours, with some pastel shades. They're mainly matte and satin shadows, with just one shimmery shade, 'Wah Wah White'. The shadows are very soft, and apply nicely. Pale shadows look so weak swatched on my skin. I'm sorry, they just blend in well. The barely visible 'Smokey Robinson' is a nice pale matte grey, in case you were wondering. 'Wah Wah White' is whiter than it looks in this picture too. Here's the look I created:

It makes me think of Wolverine! I photographed my left eye for a change. Please excuse the scar. Actually it's because I messed up the liner on my right eye and then the bulb blew on my No 7 illuminating mirror, making it too dark to see what I was doing. This one looked better anyway. For this cut crease look, I defined above the crease with Urban Decay's 'Mainline' pencil from the 24/7 Glide-On Smoked pencil set. I smudged that out and added 'R&B' just above it. I blended this up towards the brow with 'LA Belle Blue'. I also used 'Mainline' on the waterline. On the upper and lower lid I placed 'Grand Master Flash', and highlighted the brow bone and inner corner with 'Wah Wah White'. I smudged Urban Decay's 'Zero' pencil along the outer part of the lower lid. I finished the look by lining the upper lid, adding mascara and filling in the eyebrow.
I like this palette, it's great. As much as I liked the 'Respect' palette, I prefer this one. I can see myself using this one more, but we'll see what happens! Using both palettes together is going to be good too. I'll leave you with more pictures and a product list.

Urban Decay Smoked 24/7 Glide-on Pencil Set

Ok, back for part two of my gifts from Arizona! Along with the Vice Palette, I also got an Urban Decay eyeliner pencil set. There are six mini pencils in this set. Here are some pictures:
It was packaged in a clear plastic box but I took it out of there for a better photo.
This set contains two exclusive pencils (Mainline and Smog), along with two bestsellers (Zero and Demolition), and two which were discontinued and according to the website, are featured in this set by popular demand (Uzi and Empire). I've never used UD pencils before, so I was really interested to find out what they're like! Swatches incoming:
Uzi, Zero, Demolition, Smog, Empire, Mainline
I can't draw a straight line to save my life, but you get the idea! The colours are so awesome. I struggle to find good drugstore eyeliners, I'm so glad I've got these now. They're soft and creamy, easy to apply and very pigmented! I haven't had a chance to use these in a look yet, but I'm dying to! Maybe I'll have time tomorrow. I left these swatches on my arm for the rest of the evening to get an idea of staying power. They did quite well considering I swatched on bare skin. Five hours later they were still there but quite faded, over primer they'll do much better.
These are mini pencils, each containing 0.8g of product. This set is priced at $38 (€29.30), which works out at little over $6 (€4.60) per pencil. The full sized pencils contain 1.2g of product and are priced at $19 (€14.60) each. Please note that these euro prices are only conversions of their dollar value and will vary from different retailers.

I've always wondered what the UD pencils are like, but they're pretty steep compared to what I normally pay for a pencil. If you think about it though, pencils last for so long. The black kohl pencil I use now is so worn it doesn't even have writing on it anymore, I've had it for years! The quality of these just doesn't compare to any drugstore pencil I've used. I've been looking at the full range of pencils on the UD site and I think I'll have to pick up a few more :) Christmas is coming, maybe Santa will bring me some! ^_^
If you've been wanting to try out the UD pencils this is the ideal set for you. In my opinion they're totally worth the money, and this mini set is a great price considering the cost of the full size pencils. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!
